Dakarrally restday - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

11 January 2020

After the first 6 stage have been completed the team are now taking some well deserved rest in Riyadh. Marcel Snijders, co-pilot of Janus van Kasteren in the Petronas-De Rooy Iveco did well during the first half of the rally. Some technical problems and flat tires caused the team delay in sveral stages, but Snijders' navigation skills kept them close to the top 5 of the rankings. Team 505 is now 6th overall in the truck class (and 24th overall with all competitors) with 2:14 hours to catch up on leader Karginov in the Kamaz, but just 25 minutes behind Loprais and Macik who take the 4th and 5th position.

The second half of the race contains more dunes and requires good navigation skills, and this is what our team favors. On Sunday the rally restarts with stage 7 to Wadi Al - Dawasir, with a 546km special with 56% sand.
